Bruno was incredibly prompt and professional in recommending and initiating communication with 2 personal chefs to prepare dinners in our accommodation for our stay in Douro region in September 2023. Catarina from Girls on Douro was wonderful. Not only a lovely person but a chef who takes pride in her work and puts her food into local context, which is exactly what we wanted. Sadly, the second recommendation failed us miserably. Things started well as we communicated months in advance with the chef through Bruno. However, once we started to deal with the chef directly, communication from him was terrible. Bruno stepped in to help and was encouraging of the chef and his skills. We perservered, confirming the date and menu with the chef but on the day of his booking he had a colleage contact us and cancel. Sadly this reflects badly on Bookindouro.
