Mixed feelings with this hotel.This is our experience:We made a booking by email for 3 days with our family (2 adults and 3 kids) and paid 1430€ for that. I received confirmation everything was ok.1 week later I got a phonecall from my bank saying the payment was suspicious.After investigation it seems the mails of the hotel were “spoofed” (intercepted) and someone changed the bank number so I paid to another account.All the previous mails were still in the conversations so I could never find out someone else took over.I called the hotel immediately to warn them (there could be much more victims!) and they said they received my payment proof and everything was ok although the money was not on their account yet.I checked out everything and found out that someone also intercepted my payment proof and changed the number again so the hotel thought I paid to the right number.As I do business myself and I send invoices also by email, my IT specialist immediately checked if the problem wasn’t with me, and it was 100% sure it was not. My emails weren’t hacked, spoofed or anything else.I’m not a specialist myself but my IT-specialist showed me that the DMARC (some sort of email filtering) of the hotel emails wasn’t safe at all!I did several calls to the hotel to explain but I could never talk to the manager.I warned them several times that there could be other victims but the only answer was “we haven’t had any problems with our emails yet so everything is ok, so the problem must be with you…”Pretty bad argument…At our arrival in the hotel our rooms were reservated… but we had to pay the 1430€ again.I also showed the report of the police in Belgium.There we were, with 3 kids… What else could I do then pay again...So totally not commercial. It is easy saying “no pay no rooms” but my feeling is that they even didn’t want to do an effort to check out their system or to check out if they had an insurance for internet corruption.When checking out the people at the reception asked me to notice my name and banc number, in case it could get solved after all they could pay me back. Let's say it was a good try to make us feel not so bad after all...So the only victim of this cybercrime was me although the booking system of the hotel wasn't safe. The hotel should have taken their responsibility for that but they did not.So please people, to protect yourself, be careful when booking the hotel or be sure you have a cyber security insurance.What a shame for a in general pretty and good hotel.People working there are very friendly and helpfull: 5/5 for them.The swimming pool and especially the view: 5/5.Rooms 3/5: they are nice but need some freshing up again.Breakfast and swimming pool snacks: 5/5.But still, in general and with our bad experience, an 2/5 overall.
